The silence continued until nightfall. In the moonlight, the monk asked: “Where is the Truth?”. Without having received any reply, the monk fell asleep alongside the master. While the monk slept, the master whispered in his ear: “Where is the Truth?” and left. When the monk woke, he ran to the master and said: “Master! I had a dream, I dreamt that I was a master and you were a pupil who asked me: ‘Where is the Truth?’. But… where is the Truth? I don’t understand!” The sage replied: “Where it has always been, in the dream.” |
